About Us

The Masjid Development Network (MDN)  is a loose, informal association of masjid leaders, experts and Muslims interested in the future of masjids in North America. The Network provides a platform by which participants can share knowledge and best practices, and develop a consensus on guidelines, policies, recommendations, manuals and best practices

To join, a person or masjid simply fills out the “Join Us” form.  There are no costs and no obligations.

The benefits of being a member of the Masjid Development Network (MDN) are that members

  • Receive free of charge all publications of the MDN such as guidelines, manuals, best practices, ect.
  • Receive discounts on registration at Masjid Forums, workshops, training programs, etc.
  • Participate in the consultative process of developing guidelines, policies, etc.
  • Work with MDN personnel in developing training programs and events for your local masjid or area
  • Meet annually with other members of the MDN to map out priorities and action items

The Network is administered by ISNA’s Masjid Development Committee, which is dedicated to working through the MDN to produce relevant written/video materials such manuals, guidelines, policies and best practices which will provide a blueprint for a high-functioning masjid, and (2) to provide and facilitate training and educational programs for masjids.  ISNA’s Masjid Development Committee is appointed the ISNA’s Majlis ash-Shura.
